August 15 Assassins Still Involved In Conspiracy: PM

The forces against the liberation war and the accomplices of the August 15 murderers are still carrying out conspiracies. They get support from the international community, who were against our liberation war. That is why everyone should be aware.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the remarks while participating in the BCL Mourning Day discussion at Krishibid Institute on Tuesday (August 31). He joined via video conference from Ganobhaban.

The Prime Minister said, ‘Ziaur Rahman was made the sector commander in the war of liberation. But there is no precedent for him ever firing on the Pakistani army. No one will be able to show. In an interview with the BBC, Colonel Rashid and Farooq admitted that Ziaur Rahman was with the killers.

Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Ziaur Rahman has taken the meritorious students astray by giving them arms, drugs and money. His wife Khaleda Zia also came to power and threatened that her student party was enough to deal with the Awami League. He also handed over weapons to the students.

The Prime Minister further said, ‘We have enemies on our feet. Our path is not smooth, it is thorny. He has to move forward with that in mind. Even if the situation is unfavorable, if you are on the right path, with a specific goal, success will come. But the path of truth is always difficult. Those who can move forward with this difficulty can bring success.

The Prime Minister said the name Bangabandhu has been deleted after ’75. Distorted history was propagated. Joy Bangla slogan was also banned. The spirit and ideology of the war of liberation was banned. Such a country was not independent. Today, Bangabandhu’s name cannot be erased. The history of independence cannot be erased. I have published Bangabandhu’s autobiography, New China and Intelligence Diary in 8 volumes. The history and truth of Bangladesh comes out from there.

He said, ‘Thanks to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Ziaur Rahman went from Major to Major General. If there was Pakistan, he would have remained a major.

Reminiscing about her mother, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘My mother used to give direction to build Chhatra League organization. If there is a financial crisis, he has raised money by selling his own jewelry. All the while our family was under surveillance. My mother did the work so subtly, the detectives didn’t notice. ‘

Awami League presidium members Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman also spoke on the occasion under the chairmanship of BCL president Al Nahyan Khan Joy and general secretary writer Bhattacharya.
