Actress Pori Moni will appear in the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday (September 15) in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act. He will appear in court at 10:30 am on the same day.
His lawyer Mojibur Rahman confirmed the information to Dhaka Post on Tuesday (September 14).
Earlier on August 31, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayesh granted bail to PoriMoni after a hearing.
On August 22, his lawyer Mojibur Rahman applied for bail in the court of KM Imrul Kayesh. The court then fixed September 13 for the hearing. After all this time, PoriMoni’s lawyers went to the High Court as the hearing date was fixed. They applied for bail as soon as possible. Following the High Court’s order, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayesh adjourned the bail hearing to August 31 instead of September 13.
On the night of August 4, after a four-hour operation, RAB arrested Pori Moni and her accomplice Dipu from her home in Banani. At that time, different types of drugs were found in PoriMoni’s house, RAB said. The next day, on August 5, RAB-1 filed a case against Pori Moni and her accomplice under the Narcotics Control Act at the Banani Police Station.
After that, Pori Moni was remanded for 7 days in 3 phases. He was granted remand for 4 days in the first phase, 2 days in the second phase on 10 August and 1 day in the 3rd phase on 19 August. He is currently out on bail.
