A Shadow Of Mourning Over The Death Of A Judge Who Was Hit By A Corona In Jhalakathi: Jhalokati Senior Judicial Magistrate Mosammat Sania Akhter, 29, died at the Corona unit of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital at around 11:30 am on Wednesday.

He had been suffering from corona since July 12. Her husband, Senior Judicial Magistrate HM Imranur Rahman, was also affected by the corona.

Sania Akter was admitted to the Corona Unit of Shebachim Hospital in Barisal after she developed shortness of breath. The matter was confirmed by Nazir Abul Kalam Azad in the District Judge’s Court. His death has cast a shadow of mourning over the Jhalakathi judiciary. HM Imranur Rahman, husband of Senior Judicial Magistrate Mosammat Sania Akhter, is working as a Senior Judicial Magistrate in Jhalokati.

Due to the room crisis, the husband and wife used the same courtroom before and after the trial. Sania Akhter’s home is in Hoglakanda village of Arai Hazar upazila of Narayanganj. Husband HM Imranur Rahman’s house is in Muladi, Barisal. They had no children. However, Sania Akhter was eight months pregnant. It has not been decided yet where Sania Akhter’s body will be buried.

Sania Akhter had a reputation in the judiciary as a good-natured and sweet-speaking person. He treated lawyers and candidates well. He joined the Judiciary on March 1, 2016 as a judge of the 10th batch of the Bangladesh Judicial Service. He holds a master’s degree in law from Jagannath University.

On his death, Alhaj Amir Hossain Amu, MP of Jhalokati-2 constituency and one of the members of the advisory council of Awami League, District and Sessions Judge Md. Shahidullah and Jhalokati District Bar Association President Abdul Mannan (Rasul) and General Secretary AHM Mostafizur Rahman (Manu) expressed their condolences.
